Games and results on Chess24 (https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tournaments/grand-chess-tour-croatia-2019). At time of writing, Carlsen is leading with 5/7 (+3=4), half a point ahead of the field, and about to beat Ding in R8 (https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tournaments/grand-chess-tour-croatia-2019/8/1/1)with black by exploiting his B-pair. In the previous round, Carlsen beat his bęte noire Nepomniachtchi with black in only 31 moves (https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tournaments/grand-chess-tour-croatia-2019/7/1/1). It looked like a slow manoevring game in a blocked position, but Carlsen broke through with 27... f5 28. gxf5?? g4 winning by force. Another win was also with black, r1 against Giri in only 23 moves (https://chess24.com/en/watch/live-tournaments/grand-chess-tour-croatia-2019/1/1/1), in another dynamic Sicilian. Beating strong players with Black makes Carlsen look even more dominant.

Update: R8 Ding–Carlsen, 0-1.

Magnus appears to be dominating every single event he plays. Every tournament he gets some competition, but every time - it is new players. This event - Nepo at the start and now So. I can not think of another player who is able to consistently perform even at +2 level at super tournaments - perfect illustration of Magnus's dominance!
