Once again, several Aussies made a trip to Thailand.

So far Colin Savige has been the star of the Aussie contingent as he defeated an Indian GM in Rd2!

Here it is - a great effort! After all that trench warfare the GM should have swapped queens but chose to keep the position complicated, only Colin was better at the complications than the GM was.

Savige (1952) - Swapnil (2488)

I am not sure why black resigned at the end, assuming it was a resignation, or if that even was the final position.

Many mistakes by both players according to Engine but we are only human....and what a battle!

Ian Rogers has told me Swapnil lost on time.

Final position, its not so clear if Black can escape with a draw or not...looks very difficult though.

A great win for Mr. Savige - I have to admit that I didn't understtod all the moves.

Keep up the good work Colin.

I seem to be donating my rating points to Indian kids who outcalculate me... Tomorrow is round 3 vs. Indian kid. Gee...

If we would understand the moves - we would be the ones beating GMs!
