It was accidentally created as closed because I created it by splitting it from a thread that had already been closed. Fixed now.

Why is Smirnov wasting his time playing weak events like this with the precious little time he has to play strong tournaments? It seems such a shame. Is he going to play some good tournaments in Europe too?

It was quite a strong open event...and i do not think it is that easy to get an invite to play in Dortmund or in Biel (main section that is)

Oh, sorry, I see, I hadn't looked properly. He played a weak field but the tournament had a lot of GMs in it that he didn't play.

I guess he wouldn't into the GM invitation section of Biel - though it is directly targetted to young players. But the Biel Master section has going on 30 GMs playing. Presumably he is playing in some more tournaments while he is in Europe. Is it possible to know in advance....I'd like to keep an eye on them.
