GM Ian Rogers has reported that James Morris let out a loud swear word when realising he was coming undone when playing Brendon Clarke in this event. I don't know if any action was taken.

What is the source of your claim? Where was this reported?

Ian Rogers: "Morris has won more tournaments than any other Australian this year, but his results at his two most recent outings, the Gold Coast Open and the ANU Open, have been disappointing."

What else did James win this year other than sharing first in Ballarat and Doerbel?

Can't link direct to Byron Echo stories as far as I know. Have to go to their website https://www.echo.net.au/byron-echo/ and click through the viewer of the issue to find the chess section.

Re Big events...these 2 are among the biggest...not sure who won more major ones. Re ''little ones'' - James also won MCC championship and Chess Artists Championship. Not that little ones should count that much for either him or others I guess.

Vlad could be pointing towards how does another up and coming youngster's record compare to James'.

Every Chess player has ups and downs...he gets only once in a blue moon chance..

This is simply playing with player psychology after being selected to represent based on his brillant performances? :(

JM - This is the perfect opportunity to show mud on their faces..I am waiting....

I hope so too, it will be terrific to have another solid rep for Australia. He has stuck at it in spite of many distractions.

Just as long as James does not say funny words when playing the Philippines, they may take it the wrong way and all hell breaks loose.

It has already been pointed out (#12) why there can be no direct link. It may be breaking news but it is not yet the case that the whole internet is customised for the benefit of laziness.

The article does not say what exactly he said.

Michael, be careful of the rest of the Echo newspaper, full of hippy, New Age, Palestinian letters to +thro. salubrious festivals - everything lacking in chess folk
