Aronian-Caruana (https://www.chess.com/news/view/caruana-wins-in-110-moves-now-1-of-3-leaders-8602) was also interesting, with black winning in 110 moves after a RB v R in which the stronger side had only the wrong rook pawn for the bishop and the defending side having a doubled pair of adjacent pawns.

Hmmm...Another youtube spammer. They may be excellent, but i don't know. It's hard for me to see the advantage of youtube over annotated PGN and a Chess Gui for game analysis, and some of us aren't on unlimited bandwidth.

Maybe you could keep your posts to a single thread ? Cheers and good luck.

On one hand you are right, on the other hand I am just sharing free chess lectures. I will pack these videos in groups then, for example: "sinqufield cup 2017 analysis" and put all videos there, to avoid many different topics just like you said.

I have done this for the two existing SQ threads. It is sometimes annoying for users who read the forum using the New Posts function when there are a large number of threads popping up from a single poster, or for users generally if one section gets dominated by such threads, so please do keep the number of threads down.

Anand beats Caruana in 29 moves after a queen sac on an empty square!

It is nice there that while 25...Re5 loses terribly because of that queen sac, the best move 25...Qe5 is best answered by 26.Rxe2!! saccing the queen by unprotecting it! (Black then has to give up his queen for white's new queen, and white comes out exchange up.)

So is having a shocker, lost 3 games so far, and dropped from #2 Live Rated to #6.

I was surprised by Carlsen's failure to win rook endgame against Nakamura last night. Very unusual for him to slip like that.

... Rook and Pawn are drawn alright.

If fairness to So, I thought Aronian just beat him with a bit of brilliance :)
Lovely bishop sacrifice for a pawn pair, deciding a decently complicated dynamic position.

Fine result by MVL, winning with 6/9 +3=6. Also undefeated was the oldest player Vishy half a point behind, +2=7, 2= equal with Carlsen.

Great tournament, great games! Congrats to MVL and it's really sad that strongest youngsters So and Caruana who suppose to challenge Carlsen played disappointing chess.
