MCC Allegro Championships 2015!

Format: 9 round Swiss event.

When: 21st November.
Round 1 begins 2:15pm.

Where: Melbourne Chess Club. 66 Leicester St. Fitzroy, 3065.

Time Control: TBA

Entry Fee: TBA

Prizes:
1st prize $200
2nd prize $150
3rd prize $100

There will be 3 prizes for each rating group, this may vary depending on the numbers.

The MCC Allegro Championship is on Saturday week. 21st Nov.

The club is donating some money for prizes and masters get free entry.

The time limit is 13min + 2 sec although on other Saturdays from now on we will use 15min.

The time limit will be 13min + 2 sec. although on other Saturdays for normal Allegro it will be 15min.

Are you sure it will be 13+2? As far as I remember, it was discussed previously that time limit for the allegro championships will be linked to the vote. Also, I believe (and I may be wrong). Also, my sources are telling me that there was a particular ''donation'' towards the prize money, but as I am not too sure - I will disclose neither my source nor mention the activity that has taken place at MCC that has led to the donation :)

I am quoting Sylvester's post from the MCC's facebook page from Novemeber, 4th: ''Time control (he is referring to the Allegro Championships) will be set by the committee after the allegro time control vote this Saturday.'' - Therefore, my understanding is - the time control was meant to be set in accordance with the voting results. At least, this is my enterpretation of this sentence.

9 rounds of rapid play starting at 2:15pm Saturday with a first prize of $200.

Different sources are making unclear on details of entry fees and time control.

Will finish around 7 pm.

Having said that I presume that further announcements will be made before the start of the tournament!

Special allegro today starting at 2:15 and finishing about 7 ( 9 rounds to decide MCC champion )

additional boxing rounds added if needed

Michael Baron wins MCC Allegro championship scoring 7 and half out of 9

There was a field of 50 and a few masters failed to finish in top 4 because of very strong field.

Some facinating results today. 6 yo boy scored 4/9! Also Ainin Fasel finished 2nd equal ahead of 2 2300+ players gaining 95 rapid rating points!
