The Fiji Chess Federation (FCF) invites applications from Chess Trainers for the position of Junior Coach. FCF’s aim is to enable selection of four juniors in the Fiji National Squad to the 42nd Chess Olympiad in Azerbaijan.

The Junior Coach will be initially appointed to conduct a Training Camp in Fiji. This has been scheduled from April 25 to May 8, 2015. The Training Camp will coincide with a FIDE Rated tournament, and will be a chance for the Junior Coach to evaluate Fiji’s top Juniors.

At the end of the Training Camp, the Junior Coach would have:

Conducted a series of Chess training sessions with Juniors, either as a group or individually.
Evaluated and identified Juniors for selection into a Junior Development Squad.
Proposed a Training Program for each selected Junior. This would ideally be a hybrid(face-to-face/online/literature) training program.

Applicants must have experience and demonstrable results in coaching Juniors. FCF will cover travel to Suva and hotel accommodation. A daily allowance would commensurate qualifications and experience of applicant.

FCF has another Training Camp planned for later in the year, and opportunity exists for the Junior Coach to Captain the Open or Women’s Team to the 42nd Chess Olympiad.

Interested applicants to email Calvin Prasad, President-FCF (cprasad@internet.com.fj), before March 02, 2015.
