Hi all,

as you're all probably aware, the Hemmingway Open this year is restricted to players rated over 1000 ACF. As much as I would love to play in this, I have instead decided to hold an under 1000 ACF tournament at the same venue, on the Sunday. :D

Full details at http://www.caq.org.au/htm/2014/2014_November_one_day_rapid.pdf

Note: As I am trying to cater for players that would be deemed ineligible to play in the Hemmingway,if you're a junior with a Junior rating over 1000, but your ACF rating is below 1000, you are eligible to play in my tournament.

My rating is redundant would I be eligible? I love this part: 7 rounds at 15minuntes per side . That is no mention of increment time to drag the games out

The event brochure says "Currently unrated players that have previously had ratings over 1000 cannot play in this event". But you are not even currently unrated; rather, your rating is expired.

Results up on CAQ site http://www.caq.org.au/htm/results.htm

Had a few people pull out on the day, but still a decent turn out.

Good to see this initiative had a good outcome. I agree with those who think that a 1000 rating points divide is rather silly.
