5 round Swiss tournament
Time control 60mins + 30sec/move.
ACF rated, run with assistance of Chess Victoria

Round times:

Saturday November 15
Round 1: 1.00pm
Round 2: 4.00pm
Round 3: 7.30pm

Sunday November 16
Round 4: 9.30am
Round 5: 1.00pm

Venue: 3 Way FM, 71 Hyland Street, Warrnambool.

Half point byes available in rounds 1-3

Entry fees: $50 full, $40 concession or U18, early bird discount of $10 [if registered by October 31]

Free entry for GM,IM,WGM and WIM
FM – $25.

Payment can be made either on the day, at least 1 hour prior to start of tournament OR in advance via a cheque payable to “CV Treasurer” and posted to 23 Chester Street, Surrey Hills, VIC, 3127

$100 rating division prize, $100 top junior

Funny that Matthew's occupation got a mention. May be we can change the nature of chess reporting to include players occupations. Then the report could be imagined as follows: 1430 rated university student drew with a strong unemployed IM. or Charted accountant managed to overcome Toilet cleaner in a grewsome 3 hour struggle :) :) :). or even better: 1546 rated sex worker penetrated queenside of 1746 rated lawyer...

1.Kanan Izzat--- 5 points from 5 games($400).

2.Kerry Stead---3.5 points( $300).

3-7. Adrian Flitney,Khosrou Ghafouri,Kenneth Holt,Gary Bekker,Benjamin Spencer--- 3 points each($60 each).

8-11.Reza Daneshvar,Kevin Sheldrick,Matthew Clark,Matthew Threlfall--- 2.5 points each.

12.Sarah Anton---2 points.

13-14. Chris Chanley and Heinz Tetau---1.5 points each.

15-16. Andre New( he won mini chess library---junior prize) and Paul Jackson---- 1 point each.

As well as Kanan's excellent performance, it is worth acknowledging Kerry's second. Not bad for one who spends more time arbiting (and reporting results on CC) than playing.

I also note that Kevin Sheldrick did not have the best of tournaments.
