================================================== ====================

I will not be playing as I have an unavoidable clash with the hosting of a national event by the Tasmanian Field Naturalists* Club, of which I am the President. But I encourage anyone who can play to support this event, which is ACF-rated. Paper entry forms should be available at the Hobart club this week.

(* Anyone confusing this with "naturist" will be immediately banned.)

Wow. Congrats Denis! Picket fence against a field including Kerr and Rout a great result. How many players?

It was a small but solid field - 9 players - so everyone got a bye except me, Bill and Ian. I had a good first day, beating Nigel Lewis, Bill Kerr, Ian Rout and David Rolph - and then managed to withstand the two Hortons - Russell and Nina - today. There is such a thing as luck in chess of course - and she's turned her face away from me often enough for me to take it gracefully when she sometimes smiles.

Didn't you play David Hughes or did he not play in the tournament?

Dave lost to Nina in round 5 - which meant i didn't get to play him in round 6. He also had a draw with Bill Kerr earlier in the tournament.
