I am playing in the B Grade and won my first game vs fellow ex-Kiwi resident Sandeep George, who has a FIDE rating nearly 100 points above mine.

No doubt Peter will post all the results. Round 2 tonight.

Good luck to Adamski and all the other participants

I have followed my first round victory with 3 losses, all to slightly higher rated players. The most interesting was my game last night against Peter Cassettari (NSW State champion marathon runner for his age group). It was a 79 mover that finished after 11.30 pm. After a fairly level opening I won a Rook for a Knight and passed "a" pawn which together proved to be worth the Rook. Short of time I made 2 mistakes, both involving "Knight tricks" (he had 2 of them), the first losing another P, the second losing my R for the passed P (though perhaps I had to give up the R anyway). It came down to 2 N's and P vs one N, and after much maneouvring, and me almost out of time, I finally missed an N fork which forced off my N leaving the position lost.

Post number 7000 and when I find time I will post this game as it was pretty interesting.

Good luck with the rest of the event. I am curious how many of the 7000 posts have been ''good luck'' or ''well-done'' is there a way to count? May be Kevin can help us.
Btw,you also mentioned that you are playing interclub and it reminded me that sadly - there is no Interclub in Victoria this year.

I think we can do a ''sample testing procedure'' and take any 50 posts randomly and see the ''good lucks'' :)
