All who love metrics are invited to GUESS THE ODDS of the following events happening.

1 The GURU is elected to the Chess VICTORIA Committee next Saturday night (20/11/2004).

2 The GURU is elected ACF President at the next National conference.

3 In an attempt to counter criticism, the GURU affliates with CV by opening a new chess club in ORMOND/Bentleigh/Wherever .

4 The GURU enters teams in next years CV Interschool finals.

If you found guessing the odds too difficult then here is an easier task.

> Rank these from most likely to least likely.

And if that is all too hard...
>> just rank them in chronological order.

Well, one has come to pass
3 In an attempt to counter criticism, the GURU affliates with CV by opening a new chess club in ORMOND/Bentleigh/Wherever .

The GURU announced tonight that he is starting a new Club at Caulfield, and will seek provisional affiliation at the CV AGM tomorrow night.
He will back inside one tent at least.

1 The GURU is elected to the Chess VICTORIA Committee next Saturday night (20/11/2004)....went nowhere because he did not stand.

IMHO the so-called Chess Guru has no chance of being elected ACF President!

Bill

There were no contests.
Jammo retired (He really does keep a lovely set of numbers), and his place is taken by Gerrit Hartland.
Peter Cassia and Andrew LeRoy filled the two C. positions.
Recherche is put fwd as the Newsletter Cybersender.
All others as is.

A motion to increase the costs for non-affiliated promoters to have events rated was LOST (closely).

He is not a member of an affiliated Club, nor a CV Executive member. Perhaps the National Conference will not even accept his nomination.

But will he be a member of an affiliated club by the time the conference comes around?

i would view it that you would have to be a member of an affiliated club at the time when you submit your application.

^ Yeah, well I probably would too, but I don't know what the official ACF laws/rules say about it. I guess we'll find out in Jan.
