TWIC has finally published the first round PGN files on the live feed page(s):

41st Olympiad - Open (http://www.theweekinchess.com/assets/files/pgn/olym14.pgn)
41st Olympiad - Women's (http://www.theweekinchess.com/assets/files/pgn/olymw14.pgn)

Hopefully the delay between the end of the round and the publishing of these files was just at the start and it will actually be updating live after this point. There's no real way of knowing until the next round starts, though.

Unsurprisingly, these files do not contain the error seen on David Smerdon's game at chess24.com during the night. Though it's not like further proof was really needed regarding where the fault lay with that.

Alternatively there are also these files from FIDE:

41st Olympiad - Open, round 1 (http://live.fide.com/round01/wco2014_round01_open.pgn.zip)
41st Olympiad - Women, round 1 (http://live.fide.com/round01/wco2014_round01_women.pgn.zip)
41st Olympiad - All, round 1 (http://live.fide.com/round01/wco2014_round01_all.pgn.zip)

Both the round 1 directory (http://live.fide.com/round01/) and the live subdomain and parent directory (http://live.fide.com/) are exposed, so you should be able to just watch both of those for at least daily updates.

The FIDE PGN includes move times in the annotations for each move.

Yay.. much better than scrounging around at Chessbase for their unreliable pgn updates (their articles are great though).

Try out a win 32 bit scidvspc beta i just compiled this weekend.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/scidvspc/files/windows-beta/Scid%20vs%20PC_20140803.exe/download
It links to an updated API (Wish 8.6), so there's probably more bugs, but there's some new stuff too.
UCI-engine exclude-move feature, and database wide variation/comment stripping (Maintenance->Strip Comments).
....But for Kris' sake, drag the games from PGN to the clipbase/some database first. I just realised i havent
properly handled the read-only PGN yet.

I figured with all the frustration I felt while hunting around that there would be others sharing my opinion.

I like pushing wine as much as the next geek, but maybe not.

Besides, I'm probably pushing things enough as it is to get all those win32 UCI engines to play with Mac Chess Explorer. ;)
