1st BCC CheckMate Rapid Chess Open

The Bangkok Chess Club and CheckMate Bar & Bistro have the honour of inviting all Chess Players to participate in the 1st BCC CheckMate Rapid Chess Open from 2nd to 3rd February 2013 in Bangkok.

I am playing in this one! :)

More news, photos and stories as well as a thread about the Club (if there isn't one already) upon my return to Australia.

Here's the Club's website:

Best wishes, JaK. You maybe the only Australian (maybe even Oceania) representative!

Thanks Adamski!

Looks that I will be the only Oceanian participant at present but you never know!

In fact, I visited the venue today to get familiar with the place.

It's not where they hold their weekly events!

It's a very attractive place by the Riverside (not that there's anything wrong their permanent venue) and it has already been decorated with giant pieces, flyers, signs etc

The guys at the Bangkok Chess Club, have only good words to say about Aussie participants in their past tournaments!

They refer to players like Ian Rogers, David Smerdon, Tim Reily, Guy West, Max Illinworth (just to name a few) with respect and fond memories!

Cheers and good luck from Chit Lom - Bangkok!

Five star class airconditioned venue, with top quality (and quantity ;)) lunch offered to participants after Round I which started at 11:30 AM

Round IV begings at 10:00 AM tomorrow!

Cagles back Adamski!

I finally scored 3/7 with all my opponents being rated much highter than myself! :)

BTW what do you think of this venue? It's fully air/conditioned, the seats were comfortable, we played on individual tables with plenty of space, and the organisers provided us with five dish lunches on both days!

Yes it was really great RR.
Travelling is awsome but coming back to Aus and enjoying this beautiful country too is even better!
I won't be going away for at least the end of this financial year so there's plenty of time! :)
