Jones needed to win with black in the final round and did so, and then had to win a playoff against GM Stephen Gordon. The playoff was two G20/10s in the first instance and in the first of these Jones blundered his queen for a bishop but incredibly managed to draw win. He then won the second.

Even more incredibly, he won that first game with the queen blunder.

Yes; CB incorrectly says " In the playoff between the two Gawain Jones lost his queen, but managed to draw." However, the game viewer correctly shows it as a win. Post edited.
