Yes the Box Hill Championship is coming.

It will have a very special form of acceleration.

It will not use the double dutch pairing system.

It almost certainly use five digital boards.

It will have other brand new features.

I will post more later as I am off to the gymnasium.

I calculated my numbers based on the published info here

http://boxhillchess.org.au/e2011/e1104fcc/round2.htm

and for last year's figures I looked at the finishers, maybe you looked at the starters list?

I never trust the starters' lists because of the sorryicantmakeits!

Regardless the Nos, it was really exciting to see so many people playing last night, and in particular so many new faces!

The result on board 1 was certainly not a draw of convenience. It kept our interest till late.

The result on board 1 was certainly not a draw of convenience. It kept our interest till late.

A lot of fight was shown. The second game to finish was about to go lone king versus lone king when the players agreed a draw.

The game on board one was very tense but finally reached a drawn ending.

I was sitting next to David Cannon. He played really well. I have asked his father for a copy of the game. If he gives it to me it will be published.

My opponent forced a draw by the well known technique of sacrificing a knght in a knight ending to eliminate all my pawns. Still my pit bull terrier opening gave him lots of problems.
