The University of Queensland Art Museum will be hosting an art exhibition titled "The Art of Chess: Your Move".
The exhibition opens Saturday, February 26, 2011 and will continue throughout the university semester.

The Art of Chess
YOUR MOVE: Australian Artists Play Chess

The Art of Chess is an ongoing project featuring chess sets designed by some of the world’s leading contemporary artists in a celebration of the game of chess and its continued relevance to the creative arts. Inspired by the international exhibition The Art of Chess, Bendigo Art Gallery commissioned thirteen of Australia’s leading artists to respond to the notion of the game of chess for the exhibition YOUR MOVE: Australian artists play chess.

11.00am - 12.00pm: curator floor talk by Tansy Curtin, Bendigo Art Gallery
12.00pm - 1.00pm: artist talks by Michael Doolan, Sebastian Di Mauro and Caroline Rothwell
1.00pm - 2.00pm: light refreshments provided
2.00pm - 4.00pm: join in, or watch the giant chess game outside the Art Museum, with members of the UQ Chess Club.

Exhibitions continue until 24 April

Free. All welcome.
