Hi Macavity,

Please enter Justin Tan into the event. Thanks.

Also, I believe the event start time is now 7.15 p.m. instead of 7 a.m. to allow players more time to get there. I think Grant and Carl suggested this and it was announced as such at the ANZAC Weekender last week.

Thanks a lot,

Kai

That's a great improvement, can we please have an official announcement particuarly if this is the case for future tournaments as well?
My ultimate wish would be MCC tournaments to start at 7.30 pm but I am still very happy with this development!
Thanks Kai for bringing this issue up for discussion!

32 players have entered the tournament so far. We will be accepting late entries up to round 3. It is quite strong at the top with Richard Voon only just making the top half of the draw. And coincidentally, Richard was the first winner tonight:)

Full results and pairings will be on the MCC website, and some reports will be on my blog as I'm the arbiter for the event.

A big thankyou already goes to Malcolm Pyke and Pano Skiotis who worked hard accepting entries and getting the tournament ready (I was unfortunately working late tonight) and the tournament started only 10 minutes later than the scheduled 7.15pm.

Stojic-Dowling was a draw, very hard fought game that ended in a time scramble with credit to both players for holding their nerves.

Skiotis-Voon was a crush for white.

It was reasonable to expect that the club would likely open up closer to that time.

Therefore if you were there at 7pm, waited 10 minutes and no one turned up and it was still locked then it would have been reasonable to leave.

Come off it. Surely you'd think to yourself 'I am early so I have to wait until the scheduled time and check back then.' There are hundreds of cafes nearby or bookstores to browse in (all of which have no robbers) which would have been a perfect way to spend the 40 minutes.

Jack, this kind of response may cut it in the school yard but it doesn't stack up when talking with adults. Simply, you fkuced up. But that's not so much the problem. The problem is not owning it.

Perhaps not all the games are finished, or they only just recently finished? I know there were 3 games played recently, and my result only just came in. Give it some time.
