The bidding deadline was 28 February for bids by affiliated Clubs to host Chess Victoria events.

The BLITZ Championship was awarded to the Melbourne Chess Club who have established the strongest fields of rapid chess in recent years.
The OPEN has been awarded to the Box Hill Chess Club who have run this June week-ender with fields near 100 players in recent years.
The JUNIOR titles events have been awarded to Canterbury Juniors Chess Club who have extensive experience catering for the strong crop of juniors emerging into Australian chess.

It baffles me that CV gives away all it's profitable events (called "competitive bidding") and then underwrite the ones which lose money:

Other Organisations Run CV Events:
Blitz, Vic Open, School-teams and Junior Championships (all of which are profitable)

CV Continues to Run:
Aus/Vic Masters (loses money while committee members are paid to organise the event), Club-Teams event, Vic Championships and from time to time Aus Champs/Open/Juniors/School-Teams (all of which need financial support)
