Can you give us any idea of the rating field for the reserves
i.e 1400- 2000

I'll talk it over with my parents.
I am really trying to find a good one - day blitz tournament.

There will be more people who enter. If we dont get any more players we will look at either combining the groups or the reserves will be a double round robin.

The State championship looks like "Sydney Academy of Chess Chess Championship". Almost or everybody in the list knows Brett personally.

Good luck to norths' President Paul Glissan and Manly member Nina Vayssiere in the coming State champs Reserves! Also to my mate Shirty (inter alia a super judge of best game prizes) in the championship itself.

BTW how does one put a grave accent on a name?

Is there an update on the draw for the NSW Championship?

I believe that Jason Hu has this information but hasn't updated anyone since last Wednesday and his mobile rings out.

Things to note about the draw:

- Not all players in the Reserves are playing, and will be replaced by new players. If you want to fill in the spot, please contact Brett or Shane.
- There were a lot of changes made in moving players around in the pairings, after the round robin pairings were made, so check that you are playing each person once. For the drr, 2nd meeting will just be the colours reversed.
- Vincent Suttor can't make it on wednesday nights, so his games will be played on monday nights.
-Everyone else is expected to turn up on Wednesday nights or will be forfeited. Unless arrangements are made 24hours prior to the starting time.

Jak,
Sorry to see you leaving the forums and I hope you're back soon (and eventually read this post). You're way too kind to me, and there is a real positive vibe ("it's the vibe!") to your posts that will be sorely missed. I would like to say that your interview series thread is one of the best, if not the best thread ever on Chess Chat. One day I will answer your own interview questions to me, when I feel confident that I have all my FIDE admin duties under control.

Which brings me to this post:

I have never used those icons and don't always understand them - I thought he was going along with the compliment???

If you are correct I hope Shirty gives him another lashing (not with whip of nine pig tails) coz for the first time it may actually be deserved!

Can I divert and give you an analogy.

when highligher pens first came out, me the not watching tv type, was too busy studying, working and demo-ing, I did not understand their purpose. So when my boss used to give me memos with important parts highlighted I thought he was crossing them out. So I did not act on them. Then after two weeks did I get a lashing. Ignorance was no defense
