Queensland's best one day chess tournament
SUNDAY 5th JULY

Venue

Riverlakes Tavern, Cornubia
Riverlakes Golf Course & Tavern is set inside the Logandale Estate turn left at the security gate and proceed to the end of Gleneagles Av.

Prizes

1st $300
2nd $200
2rd $100
Rating group prizes 1st $80, 2nd $60 in three rating groups (providing there are at least 10 entrants per group), groups to be decided on the day. Unrated players are not eligible for rating prizes.

If there is a tie, money will be shared. Players can win only one prize.

Playing conditions:

• Tournament is a unrated 7 round swiss draw
• If there are more then 64 entries, then accelerated pairings will be used
• Time control is 15 minutes plus 5 seconds per move

No problem Amir, I'd be glad to. By coincidence, my wife is also buying stuff from Ikea.

Sabin and Melanie didn't play, but Amir did! He wasn't assassinated:hand:

I managed to win with 6/7, drawing with Gene Nakauchi in rd 4 and Stefan Riemelmoser in the last round. Gene lost to Mr Riemelmoser in rd 6, and came 2nd on 5.5. There were about 5 on 5. There was a pleasant surprise 80th birthday celebration for Barbara Hurst before the tournament, and she received flowers and a big cake. I think it was prepared by Anne Harris, Phil Bennet and Craig Stewart. Craig did a great job as arbiter! About 40 players played.

How did they go?
HI JONO Solo won the day of knights with 6 Gene came in second on 5 1/2 and for third there was a few kevin casey was one of them and the visiting father and son from Austria.

Well done Solo. :clap: Looks like quite a strong field. I didn't realize Barbara was that old till recently. I thought that Craig would be a good arbiter.
